When Ellis began creating within the worlds of music and math, she saw patterns of interwoven beauty. Now, over a decade into this fascination, Ellis uses performance, research, and interdisciplinary study to formalize connections between these two diverse fields.

Cellistically, Ellis braids her love of music, mathematics, and the south by playing repertoire by Caroline Shaw and Andy Akiho, among others. Ellis’s curious mind and kind spirit meld together in her artistic practice through a precise, delicate, and organic approach to music. 

Mathematically, Ellis looks for elegant, pattern-focused solutions. She enjoys constructing formal analysis of abstract mathematical topics. With the detail-focused, analytical approach Ellis uses in all aspects of her life, she brings light to a variety of settings, sure to tackle any challenge with grace and certainty.
